No. 15. Canton 'old' Factories: Early view of the 'old' Factories. The date of this one should be quite early circa 1815. Framed: oil.

with detailed picture of buildings, enclosures, native and foreign people, shipping, etc. Native artist, Framed: oil.

No.17 & 18. Canton 'New' Factories (i.e. after 1847). This and No.18 (companion picture) are finely executed water-coloured drawings by a foreign artist. (Slightly impaired by folding and age). These two drawings show detailed pictures of the factories as they after the year 1847 (after the Fire had destroyed the 'old' ones). The church was built 1847. The new (Factories:- British and Swedish are 3-storied buildings, the 'old' Factories were 2-storied.
